{"id":701,"date":"2013-06-23T17:32:27","date_gmt":"2013-06-23T21:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bethadonai3.web802.discountasp.net\/wordpress\/?page_id=701"},"modified":"2013-06-23T17:32:27","modified_gmt":"2013-06-23T21:32:27","slug":"yom-ha-atzmuta","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/bethadonai.com\/?page_id=701","title":{"rendered":"Yom Ha Atzmu&#8217;ta"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: large;\">Israel&#8217;s Independence Day<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/JO_israel_flag.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-702\" alt=\"JO_israel_flag\" src=\"\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/JO_israel_flag.gif\" width=\"68\" height=\"50\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Israel Independence Day falls on the 5th of Iyar, usually early in May. \u00a0This day has been celebrated since 1948, the date of the founding of the modern state of Israel. \u00a0In Israel the whole country celebrates with parties, performances, and military parades. The latter reminds us that there are those who would dispute Israel\u2019s right to exist. This is a good time to be reminded of God\u2019s promises concerning the land of Israel:<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Genesis 15:7<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">He also said to him, &#8220;I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">give you this land<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> to take possession of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Genesis 15:16<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">In the fourth generation <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">your descendants will come back here<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Genesis 17:8<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The whole land of Canaan<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, where you are now an alien, I will give as an <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">everlasting possession to you and your descendants<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> after you; and I will be their God.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Joshua 1:3<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I will give you <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">every place where you set your foot<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, as I promised Moses.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ezekiel 36:8<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8221; &#8216;But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">they will soon come home<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ezekiel 36:24<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8216;For I will take you out of the nations; <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/i><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ezekiel 36:28<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">You will live in the land I gave your forefathers<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">; you will be my people, and I will be your God.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ezekiel 36:33<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8221; &#8216;This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt<\/span><\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ezekiel 47:14<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">You are to divide it equally among them. Because I swore with uplifted hand to give it to your forefathers, <\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">this land will become your inheritance<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">.<\/p>\n<p>This promise of land is everlasting. \u00a0Although the occupation of the promised land was interrupted by exile due to Israel\u2019s sin, the promise was never annulled. \u00a0Specific boundaries were given so that no mistake would be made about the promise of land for Israel:<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Genesis 15:18-21<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, &#8220;<\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\">To your descendants I give this land<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates&#8211; \u00a0[19] the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, \u00a0[20] Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites,\u00a0 [21] Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/span><b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Numbers 34:1-12<br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The LORD said to Moses, \u00a0[2] &#8220;Command the Israelites and say to them: &#8216;When you enter Canaan,<\/span><b><i><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance<\/span><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> will have these boundaries:<\/p>\n<p>[3] &#8221; &#8216;Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. On the east, your southern boundary will start from the end of the Salt Sea, \u00a0[4] cross south of Scorpion Pass, continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon, \u00a0[5] where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt and end at the Sea. \u00a0[6] &#8221; &#8216;Your western boundary will be the coast of the Great Sea. This will be your boundary on the west. \u00a0[7] &#8221; &#8216;For your northern boundary, run a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor \u00a0[8] and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. Then the boundary will go to Zedad, \u00a0[9] continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north. \u00a0[10] &#8221; &#8216;For your eastern boundary, run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham. \u00a0[11] The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Kinnereth. \u00a0[12] Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. &#8221; &#8216;This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.&#8217; &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>These borders include much more land than Israel occupies now, and more than even at the peak of it\u2019s empire during the reign of Solomon. \u00a0From the scripture descriptions, the boundaries stretch from eastern Egypt to past Damascus, all the<br \/>\nway into present day Iraq. \u00a0The promise of this land will only be fulfilled in the end times. \u00a0Then we can look forward to the greatest Yom Ha Atzma\u2019ut celebration when the Messiah returns to reign in Jerusalem!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Israel&#8217;s Independence Day Israel Independence Day falls on the 5th of Iyar, usually early in May. \u00a0This day has been celebrated since 1948, the date of the founding of the modern state of Israel. \u00a0In Israel the whole country celebrates with parties, performances, and military parades.
